CORPS MEMBER COMPLETE ABANDONED PROJECT

 

Serving National Youth Service Corps
(NYSC) member, Rev. Jegede Oluwesun Oludele in Owa Alizormo Secondary School
and the President of NYSC MDG Community Development Service (CDS) in Ika North
East Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday 4th of June 2013,
commissioned a Urinal building for males and females of the school. Before now
the building was abandoned at the foundation level. Rev. Oludele completed the
building.  

                The
effort brought  joy and happiness to the
staff and students of the occasion was attended by NYSC Local Government
inspector, representatives from Ministry of Education, clergies, school
management and residents of the community.

                Speaking
in an address, Rev.  Oludele  expressed joy and welcomed all to the
occasion. He also described the day as a special one.

                In
his words,“we all know the obvious fact that the society today is experiencing
numerous challenges due to the lack of government reforms, intellectual and
infrastructural decay among school students. That is why there should be
renewed interest in terms of encouragement, mentoring and motivation, because
the absence of these has resulted in human workforce resource problems observed
among youths and working- class of today,”.

                He
said the project has come to existence due to one of the problems faced by
staff and pupils desiring to have an atmosphere conducive for proper habitation
for learning and convenience for essential well- being, thereby leading him to
complete the long abandoned urinal toilet, making it useful and convenient for
the school.

                He
thanked all who contributed to the completion of the project and prayed God to
reward them.

                The
principal of the school, Mr. Igharo L. O. thanked God for the orivilege to
witness the unique occasion.

                He
disclosed that the urinal was started by the PTA of the school, adding that it
was a little higher than the DPC level and was abandoned owing to financial
constraint. He thanked Corper Oladele who came and saw the importance and
thereby completed the building.

                Mr.
Igharo narrated now, staff and students urinate in nearby bush or goes out of
the school compound .“But today the story has changed, “we can now do it with
ease”, he joyfully expressed.

                He
told the gathering that Rev. Oladele has given a selfless service to the
people, describing him as an hard working person who is always cheerful.

                He
enjoined others to emulate Rev. Oladele in other to move the school forward. He
urged Oladele  to continue in his good
work and also commended him to his future employer.

                Also
speaking at the gathering, the Ika North East NYSC L.G.I  representing the NYSC state coordinator, Mr.
Anabor Peter thanked the corp member for his initiative.

                He
stated that NYSC board has urged corp members to cheek out the needs of the
community where they are posted and help see how to move the community forward.

                He
encouraged resident of the community to support the corpers who will also see
the need of the community in other to bring positive change to the community.

                Speaking
further, he appealed to Chief  Inspector
of Education to also inspect corpers posted to schools and also encourage the
PTA to make good use of the corpers, provide a conducive environment for them,  he further thanked the principal for honoring
them. Thereafter, he proceeded to commission the urinal.

                On
his part Sir Anaziah P.D.N, Chief Inspector of Education Ika North East
represented by Mr. Ibiri Solomon, commended members of the high table for their
words of encouragement.

                Expressing
that good things comes in glass, he said one of the best attribute God gave to
man, is the act of doing good, adding that corper Oladele has done good to the
school and deserves commendations.

                He
thanked the NYSC officials for nurturing the corpers and also thanked the
principal of the school for creating an enabling environment and not
discouraging  Rev. Oladele. He also
encouraged Rev. Oladele to continue in his good work just as he also advised
other corpers not to soil their lands because of love of money.

                Shortly
after the commissioning of the urinal, the school management together with
invited guest, bid the out going corp members fare well and also presented them
with gifts.
