An  Octogenarian, Pa
George Alika has declared that he is no more the father of his eldest son,
named Friday. The 80 years old man who is a native of Owa- Ekei in Ika North
East Local Government Area of Delta State in a sober mood told newsmen how
Friday has been beating him since he was in the Secondary school, stressing
that he is fed up with the punches he has been receiving from Friday.

                In his
words, “My name is Mr. George Alika. I am a native of Owa-Ekei, Ika North East
Local Government Area, Delta State. In 1959 I got married to my wife, Mrs.
Veronica Alika now deceased. Our marriage was blessed with six surviving
children, four boys and two girls. My eldest son, Friday was born in 1960 a
year after our marriage. He was enrolled in Ika Grammar School but was
dismissed from the boarding House and managed to graduate from home. I gave him
money to purchase form and train himself at the State School of Nursing, Agbor
which he refused to attend but instead he started fighting me. He beats me and
his mother at random and goes as far as destroying our farm produce.”

                Speaking
further, Pa Alika said “Friday, does not participate in any family meeting or
contributions. “When I lost one of my sons, late Paul Alika, he did not attend the
burial ceremony of his blood brother or mourn him. His evil deeds and  behaviours led to my wife’s development of
High Blood Pressure which also led to her untimely death. I cannot continue to
be a father to a son who beats me up everyday. My sisters have advised him
severally not to be beating me again yet he refused. I am disowning him as my
son and he shall not partake or participate in anything that has to do with me
and my family. I also forbid him from attending my burial after my demise.”
