ACCIDENT ALONG MEMEH STREET CLAIMS THE LIFE OF A FATHER OF 6

It was a pathetic scene to behold as the motor accident which occurred at about 6: 30 am on Saturday, 8th of November, 2014 along Memeh Street, Boji-Boji, Owa, Delta State, claimed the life of 66 years old man, Mr. Anthony Obianke. Mr. Obianke met his untimely death after a vehicle coming from Convent Street knocked him down, where he died on the spot. Late Anthony Obianke hailed from Owa Oyibu in Ika North East local Government Area.
In an interview with newsmen at the deacesed family house in Tete Street by power line axis, his son Mr. Chuks Obianke said that his late father was a security man working at Ambassador Godson Echejile’s country home at Memeh Street, Boji-Boji Owa. He further stated that his father was returning from his duty post after the close of work when the ugly incident occurred. Chuks described his late father as a good, caring and loving man.
In the same vein, the wife of the diseased, Mrs. Patience Obianke lamented the death of her husband, saying that he died the time he was supposed to enjoy the fruits of his labour. In her words, “death came and took my lovely husband away from me after all he had suffered just to ensure that our children are well taken care of, May the gentle soul of my lovely husband rest in peace”. She prayed.
The reports reaching Ika Weekly say that the driver in-connection with the incident has been arrested by the Nigerian Police in Owa Oyibu.
