ANGLICAN CHURCH CELEBRATES ST. MICHEAL DAY

AKUMAZI (Ika Weekly)- This year patron’s saints day anniversary celebration observed by St. Micheal Anglican Church Akumazi-Umuncha attracted Akumazi indigenes at home and in diaspora, friends and well-wishers.

                            

The spiritual father of the day, His Lordship, Rt. Revd. (Dr.) Peter Imhona Onekpe, Bishop of Ika Diocese urged Christians to work closely with God as His kingdom draws near, adding that faithfulness to the work of the maker attracts great rewards.

                            

He thanked the pioneer members and all that contributed so far to ensure that the present church building was dedicated in 1991.

                            

The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of award of recognition to the illustrious sons and daughters of Akumazi kingdom.

                            

The following persons were honoured as Ezi Nna/Nne; Mr. Clement Enemanya, Mrs. Jessy Isichei, Queen Edith Jegbefume, and Beneth Sunday Okonkwor.

 

Others with merit award of recognition were,  H.R.M. Obi Churchwnyemeze Osagie III (JP) Obi of Akumazi kingdom, Chief Prof. and Mrs. Peter C. Egbon (Oweh Akumazi), Dr. Engr. and Mrs. Chukwudi Edward Ajabor, Hon. Chief Mrs. Pat Ejeteh, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Enuanoehue and Late Pa Benedict I. Chukwuma (Post- Humous)

                            

Responding, the awardees expressed thanks to God for giving them such privilege and also thanked the Bishop, Clergy and Anglican Church in general for finding them worthy for such honour.
