ABAVO MONARCH EXTOLS INDIGENES ON PEACE

ABAVO (Ika Weekly) – The Obi of Abavo, His Royal Majesty Uche Irenuma Ocheri II said he will continue to create enabling environment that will enhance the socio-cultural and economic growth of Abavo Kingdom.

                            

Making the pledge when executive members of Abavo Clan Union paid him visit during the celebration of the just-concluded New Yam (Iwagi) festival. The Obi remarked that his reign will mark a turning point in the development of the Kingdom, as all towns and villages in the area will be given equal and unabridged sense of belonging to develop at their own pace, as he warned some misguided elements within the kingdom not to take the laws into their hands.

                            

Obi Ocheri II said the warning has become imperative because he would be the last traditional ruler to drag any member or group of his subjects to court over their missions or commissions, adding that as a father of all, he will continue to create avenue for peaceful resolution of conflict whenever it arises.

                            

The Obi prayed for peace in Abavo kingdom in particular and Ika nation in general as he praised members of Abavo Clan Union for their developmental stride and continued search for peace in his domain.

                            

Replying the president of Abavo Clan Union, Mr. Andrew Okoh said their visit was to felicitate with His Majesty on the auspicious occasion of the 2007 New Yam celebration and wished him more years of successful reign, as well as peace and progress in Abavo clan.

                            

Present during the visit of the union executive were the Uwangwe of Abavo, Chief Frank Umeri, the Ero of Abavo, Chief A.J Osemeha and a host of other palace Chiefs.
