AGBOR (Ika Weekly) – A teacher in College of Education Staff model secondary school Agbor has described education as the bedrock of any society.
The teacher, Mr. Fidelix Obuh said any society that has high value for education will have the control of its destiny.
He noted that the developed counties of today invested heavily on education in the past, adding that Nigerians who are making progress today are those that discovered their talent through education.
He regretted the negligent attitude on education by past administrations, resulting in the shortage of infrastructure and facilities in most schools.
Mr. Obuh stated that there is need to motivate children to pursue quality education so as to become better citizens.
The teacher stressed the need for rapid development of education through rehabilitation of school blocks, rebuilding and equipping science laboratories, procurement of books for school libraries, provision of computers and portable water for schools.
Mr. Obuh further advised the State Government to put machineries in motion to promote capacity building in schools, check encroachment of school lands, improve the working conditions of staff in order to enhance quality teaching and learning.
