IGBANKE (Ika Weekly ) – The people of Ika nation have been urged to remain united and focused in their strive to seeing that Ika land is developed; and made a pride of every Ika son daughter.
The call was made by Mr. Usi Onyero Adonis in a chat with Ika Weekly at Oligie, Igbanke Area of Edo State on Friday.
Mr. Adonis stressed that there is the need for all Ika nation from the doldrums of underdevelopment and poverty. He however applauded the royal fathers for their unrelenting commitment towards bring Ika nation to the forefront.
Mr. Adonis, who is a Mass Communication student of institute of management Technology (IMT) Enugu State, cautioned against the indiscrinate dumping of refuse on the roads and water ways, which has hampered the free flow of rain water, thereby destroying the roads. He called for the repairs of all bad roads in Ika land.
He advised the youths of Ika land to eschew evil tendencies such as cultism, prostitution, armed robbery, truancy, stating that they should focus more on getting good education that can guarantee their future.
Mr. Adonis praised the likes of Jim Ovia, the Chief Executive office of Zenith International Bank Plc and Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG) for their unquantifiable contribution to development of Ika land and the empowerment of the people of the area. He also extended his appreciation to Dr. Jim Jimi Emefiele, Obakikwu 1 of Ika land for his strong interest in the well-being of the people of Igbanke, and Mr. Igbienedion, president of Oligie National Youths Association, for piloting the affairs of the association well.
