ICE KICKS-OFF AT AGBOR-NTA

Agbor-nta Development Union (ADU) last week embarked on the launching of a thirty million naira fund for the effective take-of the Institute  of Continuing Education study centre, Agbor-nta, Ika South LGA of Delta State.

                            

The chairman of Agbor-nta Development Union, Chief M.K. Ogbe, Osolobuemeridein of Agbor, in his address highlighted on the importance of education, saying that education is the bedrock of every facet of our overall development.

                            

He also harped on the problems bedeviling the society which is occasioned by illiteracy including wrong application of principles, high death rates and youths restiveness because most of them are not educationally empowered.

                            

Chief Ogbe said it was in the bid to stem the ugly situation and improve the lives of Agbor-nta people, that the idea of sitting a study centre of ICE was contemplated by the union, so as to bring education to the doorstep of the average young man and willing elders of the community.

                            

The director, Delta State Institute of Continuing Education, Mr. S.A. Edafienene, while addressing the occasion advised indigenes to take advantage of this golden opportunity to fulfill their dream of academic empowerment and consequently acquire the necessary skills to improve on their efficiency, productivity and promotability in their fields of endearour.

                            

He implored all present and the community at large to support the project, as it will in no small measure help in actualizing Uduaghan’s administration’s  visions of peace and security, Human capacity development and physical development.

                            
The auspicious occasion which was chaired by Chief F.S. Iyawa, deinyem of Agbor kingdom, saw eminent Ika sons and daughters from all works of life to grace the occasion.
