… And Chukky Dandy speaks … Charges the people of Agbor to work in harmony

Mr.
Okoh who is popularly known as Chukky Dandy regretted that disunity was the
major factor responsible for the arrested development currently being
experienced by the people of Agbor and lamented that instead of political
leaders in the area using their good offices and political clout to attract
development for their people they are busy dissipating their energies in
fighting each other.

He
said he was not impressed with the level of development of Agbor which he
observed has fallen into complete state of abandonment. He also regretted that
“our leaders are not interested in developing their people interms of
education, grooming others to take over from them when they are old or retired.
They are not thinking of how to bring development to Agbor, with their
political positions or influence. It is really disheartening. The only person I
can see who has affected Agbor positively is Mr. Jim Ovia who has been able to
improve the well-being of the people through employment, scholarships, tarring
of Obi-Ikechukwu road, provision of pipe-borne water and in many other areas. I
think other sons and daughters who are in good positions should emulate him for
the good of Agbor. All we are asking is unity and development of our Kingdom
and not political rivalry.”

Berating
those who use the excuse of marginalization as responsible for the current
backwardness of Agbor in the scheme of things, Mr. Okoh praised the singular
political ingenuity and dexterity of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr.
Ifeanyi Okowa whom he described as a consummate politician and leader, adding
that the SSG has used his positions and influence to empower a lot of people
and attracted development to his immediate constituency.

While
pleading with leaders in Ika South to put their house in order and work for the
sustainable growth and development of the area, he equally urged them to invest
in the education of the people, saying that without knowledge a people will
remain in social, economic and political darkness. “With education, we can
achieve success. We need more educated people from this place. I am therefore
pleading to the well-to-do in our midst to offer more scholarships and do
things that will bring development to our people.”

Mr.
Okoh who disclosed that he has within the limit of his resources, assisted
people in the areas of education, setting up businesses and traveling abroad,
commended the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Keagborekuzi 1st
for his unrelenting drive in seeing that Agbor moves forward. He praised the
Royal Father, for his wisdom, knowledge, and high exposure which he said is a
pride to every Agbor sons and daughters. He charged the people to champion
ideas and projects that will uplift Agbor, to bring back her past glory.
