Hon. Nwaolokor who was addressing party faithful on
the intention of the speaker to have another shot as member representing Ika
South constituency at the state House of Assembly in 2011 expressed
satisfaction with what he called “the unprecedented achievements of Hon.
Okonta” whom he stressed has delivered on the many electioneering campaign
promises made to the people of Ika South.
Hon. Nwaolokor who is the Director of the campaign
organization disclosed that it was in line with the directives of the PDP chairman
in the LGA that no political pressure group should exist except campaign
organization that the organization was formally being announced to the
electorate to intimate them of the aspiration of Hon. Okonta.
He also disclosed that the meeting was arranged to
create a platform to openly commend the state legislator for the wonderful and
remarkable successes he has recorded in the past seven (7) years and to also
encourage him not to relent, as in his words “the people of Ika South are
solidly behind you and you good intention to bring all round development to the
entire local government area. You have worked well in representing Ika South,
crowing with the position of speaker, which has elevated the place of Ika South
in Delta State. We are really proud of you, especially your loyalty and
humility. It is in view of all these that we, the people of Ika South have
decided to support you for another term. And we are confident that you will
maintain the slogan of this campaign organization, which is “Conlmunlity and
Consolidation? We then people of Ika South believer in community to enable you
finish all the good through you have started?
Hon. Nwaolokor who is one time chairman of Ika South
Local Government Council named the achievements to include the rehabilitation
and reconstruction of roads both in Agbor and Abavo, the two kingdoms that make
the local government area, the enthronement of peace and security in the LGA,
the putting in place of a new leadership in the National Union of Road
Transport Workers, NURTW, Ika South Chapter, the employment of many indigenes
of the area into the state Teaching Service and encouraging many graduates from
the LGA to apply for jobs in the state civil service. He also listed the3
speakers achievements to include maintaining an excellent working relationship
with the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, which he declared contributed
to thee smooth running of the state affairs.
Speaking further, the Campaign Director stated that
the speaker was working assiduously to ensure that the daulization project of
the Old Lagos/Asaba road was completed as promised by the governor.
While stating that the campaign train of Hon. Okonta
will soon kich off, with the campaign organization visiting the all the wards
in the LGA, Hon. Nwaolokor appealed for support from the electivate so that in
his wards “our most respected Honourable Speaker, who has achieved so much for
Ika South and Delta State will complete what he has started with our most
amiable and dynamic governor Dr. Uduaghan”.
