10 DAY OLD BABY DECLARED MISSING BY PARENTS

A 10 day old baby has been declared missing by the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ikechukwuu Lagos of Idumu-Obi quarters, Akumazi-Umuocha, Ika North East Local Government Area. The child they said was carted away in her sleep by some unknown hoodlums, in the midnight of 11th August, 2010.

According to Mr. Ikechukwu (Hammer), the incident happened while he and his wife were sleeping in the same room with the child saying that that, it was when his wife woke up at 3.am in the morning that they discovered that their was no longer in it net bed.

Meanwhile the matter has been reported to the Umunede. Police Station Investigations are already going on. As at the time of filing the report, two of arrested the four suspects, names, withheld have been granted bail.

While the remaining two have been carried to the Delta State Police headquarters, Asaba, for further interrogations.

However, efforts are now being made by the family members of Mr. Ikechukwu Lagos and the entire community on how to checkmate the urgly trend.

Speaking with Ika Weekly, in his palace, the Obi of AkumaziUmuocha, HRM Stephen ChukwuyemezeOsagie 111 (JP) condemned kidnapping in its entirety, saying it should be stopped. He also called on the police men to take up the matter seriously and make sure the perpetrators are brought to book. He added that, his subjects are not happy with the incident, and assured that the community vigilante group will not stop providing security to lives and properties in Akumazi kingdom.
