IKA SOUTH LEGISLATIVE LEADER IMPEACHED, NEW ONE ELECTED

                            

An election was conducted to impeach the leader of the
Legislative Arm with 11 votes against 1 and 5, undecided. Another election was
subsequently conducted to replace the impeached Leader. Three members of the
legislature were nominated; Hon. Martins Okonta of Ward 15; who was nominated
by Hon. Nwagbogwu Onyeka Marvin and seconded by Collins Ewere Bello while Hon.
Azeru Alexander was nominated by Hon. Isibor Kenneth and seconded by Onotor
Sunny who, although was nominated, was not seconded.  After the election, Hon. Martins Okonta got 4
votes and Hon. Azeru won with 10 votes from the members of the house.

                            

In an interview with the new leader, Hon. Azeru
Alexander said that what happened during the sitting is normal in a democracy
and promised to carry everybody along and bring changes to the legislative
arm.
