WITCHCRAFT SAGA: 60 YEARS OLD WOMAN BURNT ALIVE

The family of Ngbeken Okoh of Iwezu
Street off Oroma quarters in Ekuku-Agbor, Ika South local government area, has
been thrown into mourning following the gruesome murder of their mother, Mrs.
Juliana Ngbeke Okoh on Wednesday, 7th August, 
2013.

According
to the eldest son of the deceased, his mother was sleeping in her house when at
about 1:00 am on that fateful some men forced the door open and inflicted
injuries on her neck, after which their poured fuel on her and set her
ablaze.  While lamenting before a crowd
that gathered at the compound, he said his mother was forcefully accused of
witch craft a few years ago, when they lost a closed family member, She escaped
the attack that same year, The same case came up when the family lost another
closed relative and a member of  the
family starts threatening to kill her, a grandson of the deceased,(identity not
given)  who was sleeping with her, said  he was sleeping with her grand mother when
three unidentified men forced the door open and inflicted injury on her late
grand mother neck and poured fuel on her and burned her in his presents .Mrs.
Azubuike Isioma, one of the late Mrs. Ngbeke daughter, who described her late
mother as peaceful, gentle, and hardworking, wondered why the mother could be
killed in such a manner says  that she
spoke with her mother on Tuesday, before the incident, and she informed her of
the plan of some group of people who were threatening to kill her, and she
assured her not to be afraid that God is in control.

She
therefore called on the security agencies to intervene, as life is no longer
safe in the community.

At the time
of filling this report Ika Weekly gathered that the  body of late Madam Juliana Ngbeke Okoh has
been deposited in an  undisclosed
morgue
