The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
woman leader in Ika Northeast local government area of Delta State, Mrs. Rita
Dupe Nwaneri is dead. Her death which occurred at about 6.30 am on Wednesday,
7th of August, 2013 came to many as a rude shock as she was said to be hale and
hearty without any sign of ill health. She died at the age of 52 years.
In an
interview with Ika Weekly correspondent, the eldest child of the deceased, Mr.
Donally Nwaneri said his mother was not sick. According to him, “at about 5am
that fateful day, my mum woke up to walk around the compound as she normally
does before going back to bed. When I woke and did not see her and went back to
bed. I went to her bed room about 6: 30am to check on her, only to discover
that she was no more breathing. Immediately I rushed her to the hospital where
she was confirmed dead”.
Mr. Nwaneri
said that, her mother’s death is both shocking and painful, describing her as
caring and loving mother, who will be greatly missed.
On her
part, Miss Bella Sarona Nwaneri said that her mother’s death has dug big hole
in her heart that no one eles can heal. Sh prayed God to grant her peaceful
rest.
As at the
time of filing this report, sympathizers were seen consoling the bereaved
children. The burial arrangement is yet to be announced by the family.
