OBI OF UTE-OGBEJE INSTALLS NEW OMU

UTE-OGBEJE (Ika Weekly) – The people of Ute-Ogbeje now have a new Omu for  the Kingdom.

 

She is Chief (Mrs.) Felicia Adafor Dibie, a mother and successful trader.

 

Performing the installation at his palace on Saturday, the Obi of Ute-Ogbeje, His Royal Majesty, Chukwuma Jikeme 1, said Omu title is a symbol of peace as the holder is regarded as the mother of the community and protector of the land.

         

Obi Jikeme 1, urged the new Omu to discharge her duties in accordance with Ute-Ogbeje tradition and called on the people of the kingdom to accord her respect due to her at all times.

         

Responding, the Omu, Chief Mrs. Dibie expressed thanks to God for giving her the opportunity and thanked the Obi for finding her worthy of becoming the Omu of the town.

         

While pledging her loyalty to the Obi and the elders of the town for going her for the position, Chief (Mrs.) Dibie commended the invited guests for coming in such large number and from various places far and near.
