PDP, IKA SOUTH HOLDS GENERAL MEETING, WELCOMES APC DECAMPEES

Members of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, on Saturday, June 9, 2018 held an enlarged meeting where issues that will help in the re-elections of His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta State, come 2019 were discussed.

The Chairman of PDP in Ika South, Mr. Collins Bello, while presenting some members of the All Progressives Party (APC) who came to join the party on that fateful day, charged all PDP faithful in the local government to remain committed to the party’s affairs. He advised all who have registered for their Personal Voter’s Cards (PVC’s) or those who have registered but have not gone to collect theirs to urgently do so as that is the only way they can exercise their voting rights.

Speaking further, the Party Chairman urged all Ward Chairmen, women and youth leaders as well as the various unit coordinators across the twelve wards of the local government to be hard working towards their assignments. He noted that it is only when they are hard working and committed to the party’s activities, that they will be able to achieve their set goals in 2019. He therefore thanked the former APC members for joining PDP and used the medium to advise them to try and register for their PVC’s as in no distant time, he will issue them their membership cards.

The APC members who decamped to PDP include the Ward-12 APC Chairman, Mr. Joel Akpisi, Mr. Samuel Odiasie of Ward-3, Mr. Richard Meninwa from Ward-9 and others. Mr. Akpisi, on behalf of others promised to be committed to PDP and mobilize others who are in APC to PDP so that come 2019, they will join hands to deliver Senator Okowa for a second tenure.
