Tragedy struck the family of Osieze in Ekwuoma, Ika North East Local Government Area, following the death of Mr. Ndu Osieze, who committed suicide by hanging on 5th, December, 2011.
Those were at the scene of the urgly incident were short of words and wondered what could have led to such act describing the world as fearful and beyond humanunderstanding.
Ika Weekly gathered that the evening before the suicide, the late Mr. Ndu Osieze was said to have driven his family out of his house as a result of his drunkeness. The late Osieze was prevailed upon the following morning by one of his in-laws to allow his wife and children into his house.
It was further revealed that the suicide victim bade his wife farewell while she was going to farm that fateful day and promised to join her. The late Osieze who was alone that Monday morning was said to have locked the entrance doors to his house and thereafter tied a rope on the pillar in front of his house which he used to hang himself.
At the scene of the incident, the bereaved wife, Mrs. Osieze was speechless as a result of the shock, while the children were said to be at school.
However, sacrifices were performed to cleanse the atrocious act of Mr. Osieze before the tightened rope around his neck could be loosened. The police men who were at the scene of the incident and family members took the corpse to a hospital for autopsy.
