A formidable political group, in Ika Federal Constituency, known as Ika Youth For Change, has expressed their satisfaction at the tribunal’s judgement over the House of Representatives April election. According to the group, such judgement has given room for positive believe that there is justice in Ika Land.
The group earlier through its president, Mr. Peter Sunday, expressed disappointment over the conduct of the election. In his words," Ika nation have resorted to political bazaar where character and integrity no longer decides who wins election, we will work hard to change that notion because this is one of the reasons Ika Youth Movement was established.
He said the group endorsed Dr. Mrs. Isioma Okobah, before the election and said that the decision was not by accident and that if there is a re-run or another election, "we will support her overwhelmingly, because she is by all standard the best candidate.
"We do not support a candidate for monetary consideration or any form of financial gain, but for the good, progress and improvement of the life of our people.
"Dr Mrs. Isioma Okobah, has over the years dedicated her time and resources to the betterment of the life of the poor people, as well as the rich in Ika land. Her philanthropic life remains unequalled by any politician both past and present. Her life and character remains a genuine source of inspiration to every Ika youth."
Speaking further, Mr. Peter stated that, Dr. Mrs Okobah has proved that a woman can accomplish many things in life, by been first, a woman, a wife, a mother, an accomplished medical doctor and an accomplished academia." What else could inspire the youths more than her unbelievable accomplishments," he said.
The group however, called on every youth and oppressed person in Ika land to continue to support Dr. Mrs. Isioma Okobah," for the genuine change we all desire. If we want any positive change and want to give hope to every child in Ika land, we must work for the change by supporting the right persons. We want an Ika land where everyone can one day be what they aspire to be. For this to happen, we must not allow Ika land to be turned into a political bazaar. For we the members of Ika Youth for Change, we shall continue to support this quintessential woman," they declared.
