UPDATE: The foreign engineer with Hi-Tech that was kidnapped last week has been released.
Ika weekly reliably gathered that the kidnappers took the said engineer to an unknown bush in Sapele, Delta State and gave him a beaten of his life, and thereafter asked for a ransom of N8M.
The residents of Boji-Boji metropolis however breathed a sigh of relief when it was noticed that work has once again resumed on the Old Lagos/Asaba road which everyone thought should have come to a stand still following the kidnapping of the engineer.
Our source however, revealed that the white man was released on Saturday 7th April, 2012, by the unknown kidnappers, and made his way straight to Agbor.
Meanwhile work on the Old Lagos/Asaba has resumed in Ernest and it is expected that there will be no stoppage.

One of the foreign engineers and a staff of Hi-Tech Engineering, the company handling the dualization of the Old Lagos/Asaba road has been kidnapped. He was kidnapped in the morning of Thursday, 5th April, 2012 by unknown men.
According to an eye witness, the white man was whisked away by some men who came with two jeeps when he was inspecting some areas of the work between the Alihame junction and Ministry of Works axis of the Old Lagos Asaba road, Agbor. As at press time his whereabout has not been known.
Many residents of Agbor and its environ received the news with shock saying that it will hinder work on the road which was before the incident moving at snail speed .
As a result of the incident some of the heavy duty equipment that were being used by the company have been removed from site as there are speculations that work will stop for a while.
