The entire Kingdom of Ottah in Igbanke, orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State was agog on Saturday 7th, 2012, for the celebration of the installation of HRH Julius Chukwuyem Isitor, 13th Enogie of Ottah Kingdom. The memorable event drew dignitaries from all walks of life, Ottah sons and daughters both at home and in diaspora were present to witness the great ceremony.
It was really an auspicious ceremony that was done with the burial of the departed Ottah monarch, HRH. F. I. Osafiele 11 Ottah and the installation of the heir apparent HRH Julius Chukwuyem Isitor.
In a welcome address presented by Ottah community the late monarch, HRH F. I. Osafiele 11 was said to have acceded the throne as the 12th Enogie of Ottah Kingdom on june 6th, 1957 and reigned for 61 years, thereby, making in history not only as one of the longest reigning kings in Nigeria but also, in this part of the globe. This longevity they said partly due to his open minded disposition and the unalloyed cordial relationship HRH- enjoyed with his subjects.
HRH Julius Chukwuyem Isitor aka J. C. J was described as a humble, homely, sociable, enterprising and a facilitator of community Development. He is to be happily married to beautiful Gloria and has two (2) sons.
Coincidentally, it was the day the old Royal Highness passed on to glory, was the birthday of the young Royal Highness.
HRH Julius Chukwuyem Isitor was born on 22nd day of January, 1976 into the family of HRH, Osafiele Francis Isitor of Obi-orum Quarters, Ottah- Igbanke, orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria.
Late HRH F. I. Osfiele 11, Enogie of Ottah Kingdom was a lover of Christ. He welcomed many Christian denominations into his domain for full Evangelism. He is said to be a caring, generous, upright, humble and an astute disciplinarian. His last public outing was on Saturday 21st January 2012, when he prayed for the medical personnel that came to administer ‘’ Free Medi Care’’ to Ottah people. So, it seemed unbelievable but true the next morning to hear that the "Stone is Broken,’’ HRH. Slept in the Lord at 91 years on Sunday 22nd. January, around 1.00am after ruling his Kingdom for 61 years.
Speaking to Ika weekly, is Dr, Evag. F. Omorogie, the president of Igbanke Christian Association (I C A ) on behalf I. C. A. said they are grateful to the lord for making it possible for the installation of the new Enogie of Ottah and stated that it is their heart desire that the new Enogie will serve the lord whole heartedly, in order for Ottah to move forward.
In a chat with newsmen, the Enogie of Omolua HRH I. O Uwafoi on-behalf of the Enogie’s and Obi’s present at the occasion thanked Almighty God for the success of the installation ceremony.
He noted that now that he has joined their folk, he prayed that they will always speak with one voice. And he also solicits to Ottah people both home and abroad to give him maximum co-operation.
HonC, the Odozi ali of Ottah Kingdom and the deputy leader of legislative council in Orhionmion L G A OF Edo state, the head of the Chief’s fold newsmen that Ottah in Igbanke in Orhionmwon LGA of Edo State is Politically related to Delta State and that is the reason why the coronation of the king was performed by onu-Alaza, in Aliogor, Alisimie in Ika South AG A of Delta State.
Mr. Emmanuel Uzoka, the president of Ottah community development union (O.C.DU) said that the installation of this new king will bring about changes and meaningful development to Ottah Kingdom.
High point of the ceremony is the coming out of the Enogie to see the public from his inner chambers, as the whole congregation stood hands akimbo to honour the Enogie. The Enogie walked round the congregation with his chiefs and eminent personalities as they were shouts and gun shot in the air.
