Pa S. E Aziken, has within the week, while speaking with Ika weekly at his office along old Abraka road, Boji Boji Owa, bemoaned the poor state of infrastructure in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. He said the Local Government is being cheated as there are no motorable roads in the area, while government is doing nothing about it.
He stated that the state of roads in the area could force tears out of one’s eyes as road users struggle to use the dilapidated roads in the local government which according to him needs urgent attention
In the same vein, Pa Aziken noted that some Delta line (Uduaghan) buses that were initially meant to convey people from Boji Boji metropolis to some villages in Ika South Local Government Area, have been designated to ply other routes due to the bad state of the roads leading to the villages they were initially meant to ply.
Such roads according to him are Oza – Alisimie road, Agbor Alizomor – Alisor road, including some streets like Baleke, Imudia, Hill, Abuda Street, Akpenyi and a host of others in the metropolis.
He called on politicians to desist from being sentimental when it comes to making choice of areas or local governments to develop, urging them not to look upon which local governments voted for them or did not during general elections, as every constituency in one way or the other contributed to their success at the polls and as such deserve equal pace and standard of development.
Pa Aziken however appealed to the state government to come to the aid of Ika South as the local government has been co-operating with the past and present administrations in the State.
