UMUNEDE (Ika Weekly) – Christians have been advised to live exemplary lives so that they will be remembered after death.
The call was made by Rev. Fr. Anthony Ibekwe during the requiem mass conducted in honour of late Mrs. Lucy Mgbafor Nwaham, who was buried at Umunede in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State last week.
In the sermon preached at the Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, Umunede, Rev. Fr. Ibekwe stressed on life after death and advised people, irrespective of their denomination, to make their choice of eternity while on earth. His message centred on John chapter 14.
The funeral service attracted personalities across the nation including Hon. Ben Obuh, the immediate past Commissioner for Rehabilitation of Ailing Industries, Delta State, Chief Omubor, South South Chairman of Yar’Adua/Jonathan Solidarity Forum and other dignitaries.
The highlight of the occasion was the interment, as the body of the late Mrs Nwaham finally laid to rest in her husband’s compound at Umunede.
Responding, the family of Nwaham collectively expressed profound gratitude to all for the love and interest shown to them throughout the burial ceremonies, and prayed God to grant every one who came traveling mercies back to their destinations.
