AGBOR (Ika Weekly) – The Delta State Commissioner of police, Mr. Hezekiah Dimka has urged law-abiding citizens to always co-operate with the police in their unrelenting efforts to curb armed robbery and other social vices in the state.
The commissioner made the appeal while confirming the robbery incident in a commercial bank in Agbor last weekend.
Briefing pressmen on the issue, he said the ugly situation was saved by the timely intervention of the police and the joint task force on security patrol. He added that his men were able to recover three assault rifles, ninety rounds of cartridges, thirteen magazines, two Mercedes Benz Cars, that were snatched from owners at gun points by the robbers, and one L 300 Mitsubishi bus with registration number JR 416 AAA used by the hoodlums for the operation amongst many other ammunition.
The state police boss affirmed that the police has beefed up security to ensure a crime-free “ember” months for Deltans, as he warned all the hoodlums in the state to relocate elsewhere because his men are ready and prepared to make the state uncomfortable for their stay this season.
He further disclosed that areas where the bandits fled to are currently under police searchlight and efforts are being made to track them down.
