The Nigeria Police Area Commander in charge of Delta North,
ACP Attahiru Isah on the 11th of June, 2013 decorated five newly promoted
police officers at Owa-Oyibu Police Division, Owa-Oyibu, in Ika North East
Local Government Area of Delta State. The five police officers who rose to the
rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police 1 (ASP1) include Emmanuel O. Owa,
John Onuelu, Edwin Ojobu, Ayodele Otu-akhi-na, and Leticial Ozor.
Speaking,
the DPO Owa-Oyibu station, DSP Ignatius Nnaji, said the decoration of the newly
promoted police officers in the division and others is an instruction given to
area commanders by the Delta State commissioner of police to carry out.
According to him, “this day is a great day the officers have long waited to
see. No doubt this elevation will spure them to action.”
He
congratulated the beneficiaries and prayed God to help them to perform
creditably well.
The
police area commander while decorating the officers, charged them to continue
in their good works which brought them promotion. He told them that the
elevation is a call greater responsibilities.
On his
part, ASP Emmanuel Owa on behalf of the newly promoted and decorated police
officers thanked the area commander, DSP Nnaji and all who witnessed the
decoration ceremony. “Other beneficiaries and I will always do our best to
ensure the safety of lives and properties,” he affirmed.
High
point, of the ceremony was the decoration of the five newly promoted police
officers and congratulatory handshakes with them.
