It is no
longer news that power supply in Agbor
is nothing to write home about, especially in Alihame community where most of
the residents are students. For the past two months, some partsof Alihame, like
Board Road and All Saints Catholic church area have not experienced power
supply.
Some of the residents who spoke
on the condition of anomimity said the power failure is as a result of some
parts that was stolen from the transformer supplying power to the area.
In a chat with newsmen, Comr.
Ehiobu Confidence, secretary general, NAIS Nationwide, noted that the people
have completely lost confidence in PHCN and have resorted to using generators.
He appealed to the Power Holding
Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to see to it that the problem is rectified. He called
on them to ensure that the electricity problem in Alihame community is looked
into as soon as possible in other to save students and residents from untold
hardship.
