Chief Nkenchor Okwuokenye, the Inneh
of Owa kingdom donated football items worth thousands of naira to Allstars
Football Club (AFC) on the 23rd August 2013 at his office, along Owa Ekei road,
Boji-Boji, Owa. The items included international set of Jesseys, two standard
training Bibs and ten FIFA approved match balls.
Chief
Okwuokenye, who spoke to Ika Weekly correspondent, said his intention of donating the football items has
to encourage, the game of football
He
thanked Mr. Lucky Sunday, the coach, comrade Emeka Asiwe, chairman Comrade Isioma Okoh,
assistant provost, and other members of the club for supporting football talents in Ika land.
He
o appreciated Mr. Chuks Agidi, the Dike of Owa kingdom and Mr. Nwagod, saying
they have been motivating and encouraging him to partake in regular physical exercise and training.
He
charged the club to continue putting more efforts so that one day they will
play for the whole country. He promised them to expect more items from him if
they continue to improve.
Speaking
to newsmen, Mr. Lucky Sunday thanked Chief Okwuokenye for what he has done for
the club saying that he is a man to be reckoned with. He urged all sons and daughters of the land to
be partners in progress with the club and emulate Chief Okwuokenye so that
great stars will emerge from the club.
Some
members who spoke to newsmen include: Comrade Isioma Okoh and Mr. Chuks Agidi.
They said that they are happy to with the action of Chief Okwuokenye who irrespective of not being a member of the
club has come to put smiles in their faces.
“Our
prayer is that whatever he does in life will prosper”. On his part, comrade
Asiwe advised young talented footballers and entire members of the club to
always engage in regular exercises.
