UMUNEDE (Ika Weekly) – At least one person has been confirmed dead in an auto-crash that took place on Sunday along Umunede/Mbiri road, Umunede in Ika North East Local Government Area.
The deceased, whose name was given as Mr. Godwin Osakwe was said to be on his way to the Church at the early hours of the day to make arrangement for the day’s service when he met his untimely death.
According to his elder brother, Edmund Osakwe, some tipper loads of gravel were heaped by the because late Godwin was not aware of the new development, he ran into the gravel with his motorcycle, somersaulted and knocked down a young boy of 21, whose name was given as Ndubuisi Nzemeke.
Mr. Nzemeke is receiving treatment at Kifa’s Hospital, Umunede, while the remains of Godwin Osakwe has been deposited in a private mortuary Umunede.
