Two suspected fraudsters, Roland Ogboru and Chinedu
Boibenin were on Monday, 28th of October, 2013 arrested by soldiers in Ika land
following their failed plan to dupe a 16 year old girl called Success.
Confessing
before newsmen, Ogboru, an Okada rider said it was not long he joined the 419
group led by one Chukwuma Baso. According to him, “I am yet to benefit from the
group. I am appealing to the soldiers to have mercy on me”. On his part,
Boibenin said he only joined the illegal business in order to earn a living.
The suspects promised that if they are freed they will never go back to 419
work again
Speaking,
the 419 victim, known as Success said,
she played into the hands of the fraudsters while trying to assist a boy who
pretended that his father was sick. “I was manipulated by the charm of the
fraudsters but gained consciousness after my mother prayed for me. I never knew
that the little boy crying for me to help him was a member of the 419 group.
The medical doctor he claimed he was looking for turned out to be a magician.” Success said.

Oloko commenting on the issue condemned the act. He said the story of the 419
victim will serve as deterrents on how to organise themselves outside. He used
the opportunity to disclose that two
notorious 419 persons in Orogodo metropolis, Chukwuma Baso and Dowani
have been declared wanted, saying that “the evil of 419 must stop advising Ika
people to watch carefully before offering to help people.
