Mr. Peter Ogorchukwu Iyawa, a
MasterS Degree Holder in Soil Agriculture from Michael Okpara University of
Agriculture, Umuahia, Abia State and a native of Ime-Obi, Agbor, Ika South
local government area is suffering from a chronic kidney problem that needs the
sum of 5 million naira for a transplant in India.
Speaking to newsmen at Ika Weekly
office in tears the mother of the kidney patient, Mrs. Helen Iyawa stated that
her son’s illness started in August, 2013, where they started treating him on
Malaria and Typhoid, unknownto them that it was a kidney problem. She stated
that they were first at Central Hospital, Agbor before they were referred to
Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DSUTH, Oghara where they discovered
that the two kidneys has been damaged. She said that they have spent over one
million naira for treatment but all to no avail, stating that that they have been referred to India for the medical cost and that treatment
will gulp at least the sum of N5 million naira. She used the
medium to call on the government, private individuals and non-governmental
organisations to come to their aids and save a soul.
The patient, Mr. Iyawa is still
single and unemployed since the sickness attacked him.
