Ika Blessed Football Club of Umunede in Ika North
East Local Government Area of Delta State has intensified training in order to
harness talents that will represent Nigeria in the field of football in future
tournaments.
Speaking
in an interview with Ika Weekly, the manager of the football club, Mr. Felix
Ezekiel revealed that the club was established on February, 6 2014 purposely to
create opportunity for young football stars and to showcase their God’s given
talent.
According
to him they are grooming youths under the ages of 13 years who will make
Nigeria proud.
He
maintained that the team members in constant practice in order to groom
themselves as a strong and formidable team that can stand the test of time any
time, any day and any where.
He
called on interested youths who are
interested to come in person and register with the club for immediate training.
“The
major challenge confronting Ika Blessed Football Club now is lack of funds. All
these while personal effort has been used to pilot the club till date.
He
however appealed to all Ika sons and daughters at home and in diaspora,
politicians, philanthropist non governmental organization as well as the three
ties of government to support.
He
thanked the management of the club, the Chief coach, Mr. Emmanuel Obiora,
assistant coach, Miss Uche Ghanna and other members of the management for the
courage and quality service rendered so far.
