The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC has donated a tractor and its accessories to the College of Education, Agbor in Ika South local Government Area.
The Managing Director of the NDDC, Mr. Timi Alaibe disclosed that the donation was in line with the Commission’s determination to fast track sustainable Development in the Niger Delta Region.
Mr. Alaibe who was represented at the ceremony by the NDDC manager in charge Finance and Supply, Mr, Nwankwo Chidi, said that the gesture was aimed supporting mechanized agriculture in the Region as well as enhancing quality training for Agricultural Science Education undergraduates in the institution.
He urged the College authorities to put the donated implement into good used.
Earlier the Provost of the College, Dr. Emmanuel Tibi expressed appreciation to the NDDC for its magnanimity.
Dr. Tibi said that the farm implements would significantly enhance the teaching and learning of Agricultural Science in the College and assured that the tractor and its accessories would be put into good use.
The Provost who disclosed that the NDDC built a mini-lecture theatre and tarred the access roads in the Permanent site of the College, appealed to the Commission to provide more offices for lecturers, a one thousand seater capacity lecture theatre and d giant generator to power the computer and other equipment in the College.
