Boji-Boji, Owa (Ika Weekly) – Youths have been admonished to make use of their youthful age since no community is complete without their efforts.
Rev. Chibueze Stephen gave the advice on Sunday at the “youth Week” organized by the youth of True Believers Gospel Mission at Obaigbena Street Boji-Boji, Owa.
Rev. Chibueze who is the General Overseer of the church was delivering a message titled “Youth usefulness” from the theme “Youth Empowerment”, He stressed that any family without youth will go into extinction.
He urged the youths to be vibrant in the Lord and not to be smoking and drinking.
He pointed out that most youths fail in life because they depend on negative spiritual power, regretting that majority of them do not know that they can not make it without the Lord. He quoted from the scripture, Psalm 119:9 “that a man cannot cleanse his way without the Lord.
He further explained that parents are now afraid to go to farm because of evil men in the bush. He said the community that has vibrant youths like David in the bible is not suppose to be afraid.
He therefore advised them to take example from David and chase those strong men out of their land.
He also told parent not to rebuke their youths, as David was rebuked, adding that, there is a purpose God placed in them, which they must achieve.
Speaking in the same vein, Pastor Young Sylvester said the youths should acquire power first instead of chasing money or the opposite sex.
He said the best way to acquire power is to lean on God and adhere to the advice of elders, and not lean on their own understanding, as it has ruined so many youths life.
To be a useful youth, he said one should sacrifice a lot of worldly things and respect their elders, to avoid curse from them, adding that most of the youths wasting away along the street could be as a result of the curse they received from the elders whom they offended.
In his response, the youth President, Bro. Earnest Ijeh, was full of joy as he appreciated every member of the church for their contributions which he said made the event successful.
He pleaded for continuation, adding that the youths cannot be what God expect them to be without the continuous advice and corrections of elders.
