Speaking
exclusively to Ika Weekly reporter on Wednesday at the Council Secretariat, the
Supervisory Councilor for Special Duties, Ika South Local Government Area. Hon.
Victor Okocha who spoke on behalf of the Council Chairman, Hon. Hilary Ibude,
said that the purpose of acquiring the earth moving equipment was to make sure
that all village roads are opened up and also to see that all the roads in the
Local Government Area are made motorable.
Hon.
Okocha disclosed that the current administration is poised to enhance the
infrastructural base of the locality. He stated that very soon, all the
equipment will be mobilized to begin the grading and opening up of roads in all
the wards in the council area. He added that the issue of bad roads will soon
be a thing of the past, enjoining the people of Ika South to continue to
support the administration of Hon. Ibude, who has pledged to give the people
purposeful leadership.
The
Supervisory Councilor while stressing that maintenance of roads is a priority
to Hon Ibude led government, said that where necessary, within the limits of
available funds, some roads will be tarred. He expressed happiness over the
level of achievement so far made by the council, adding that he will remain
grateful to God for making him part of a result-oriented team.
It
will be recalled that few weeks ago, Ika Weekly published a story captioned
?Ika South Takes Delivery of Earth Moving Equipment? where we reported the
delivery of some earth moving equipment, that include a grader, payloader,
roller and two tippers, which the council chairman, Hon. Hilary, speaking
through the council secretary said were procured for the purpose of keeping all
roads in Ika South in good shape all year round.
