OBI OF MBIRI HANDS MBIRI OVER TO JESUS

The Obi of Mbiri Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, his Royal Majest Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Alekwe II, (JP) on Sunday 26th July 2009 made a formal proclamation that Mbiri has been handed over to Jesus Christ.

Obi Ifeanyichukwu Alekwe made the remark in his palace during the inaugural programme initiated by the Ika North East Restoration Prayer Team. He stressed on the prevailing problem in the society such as cultism and other social vices that have eaten deep into the fabric of both the smaller and larger society, saying that many today cannot serve God because of their involvement in cultism and other related vices. He said that there is no salvation and protection in any thing that has to do with cultism and other related groups.

He therefore appealed to Mbiri sons and daughters at home and abroad to surrender to Jesus which himself has done with his entire family, as that is the only way the lot of the people can be bettered. He said that by the time he visited the nation of Israel on a pilgrimage, he stood on Jesus tomb and confessed the sins of his ancestors, and the present generation and prayed for the entire Mbiri kingdom, saying that if a king of a land can serve Jesus Christ he sees no reason why his subjects should declare for any other god.

In a brief message, by Rev. Ignatus Ogboi titled "A Curse To Be Changed," with texts from the bible book of (Zach. 1:3-6) and (John 15 from verse 1), the man of God said that wrong doings of their ancestors are responsible for some of the negative things happening in the community. He therefore pleaded with the audience to effect a change which is the purpose of the prayer, as the only way out is for the people of Mbiri to turn to Jesus.

Responding, Mrs. Bamah J.N. the coordinator of Ika North East Area of Restoration Prayer Team thanked the Obi and the ministers of the gospel for finding time to attend inspite their tight schedules. She said it is a sacrifice that will be rewarded by God, saying since all the churches in the land of Mbiri were represented, it shows unity and co-operation which they should keep up.

Highlight of the occasion was the establishment of a new altar in the land after demolishing the old one. Intercession was made for the land and its inhabitants, with curses and evil covenant in the land broken. This was handled by pastor Nwabor Samuel who involved the king of the land and representatives from each quarter of Mbiri as a sign of unity and agreement.

Restoration Prayer Team is made up of 7 members which include, Rev. Anyasi who is also a vice chairman of CAN in Ika North East, Pastor Samuel Nwabor, Mrs. Florence Omumu, Pastor Dr. Mrs. Ajuduenu, Evang. Akumazi, Ohen Hezekiah and Mrs. Bamah J.N.
