BARR JACOB BOI IBUDEH LAID TO REST

The remains of late elder
statesman, community leader and legal luminary, Barr. Jacob Boi Ibude has been
laid to rest . He was buried at his home town at Abavo, Ika South Local
Government Area of Delta State after a requiem mass at St. Dominic Catholic
Church, Boji-Boji, Owa

The demise of the
late  legal icon was described by many
people who attended the burial ceremony as a great loss not only to the people
of Abavo and Ika nation but also to Delta State as a whole. They said late
Barr. Ibude was an embodiment of truth, hard work and diligence, qualities
which made him to be out- standing in all that he did when he was alive. They
prayed God to grant the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the
irreparable loss. Earlier, a valedictory court session was held in his honour
at the Agbor High Court.

Present to pay
their last respect to the late elder statesman at Abavo the venue of the burial
ceremony were top government functionaries, politicians, community leaders,
businessmen, members of the Nigerian Bar. Association, Agbor branch led by Joe
Egwu Esq, Abavo community, friends and family members.

The late Barr
Jacob Boi Ibudeh was  born into the
family of late Ibudeh Osegi and late Mrs. Titi Osegi on April 26th,
1944 in Udomi, Abavo. He was  an
accomplished business man and educationist, He was President General, Abavo
Town Union for two consecutive times, 1976-1980 and also chairman, Board of
Directors of the then Bendel Development and Property Authority (BDPA),
1980-1983. Late Barr J.B. Ibudeh was appointed Electoral Commissioner-in-charge
of Legal Matters in the Delta state Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) by
Chief James Ibori, where he served meritoriously for five years. He is survived
by a wife, Mrs. Agnes Ibudeh and seven children and grand children.
