A

from fibroid tumor has cried out passionately to kind-spirited
individuals and organizations, to come to her aid financially, in
order to offset the bills she incurred in the course of carrying out
an operation on her in a clinic within Ika metropolis.

Mrs.
Favour Amufua who has been on the neck of Ika Weekly since on Monday,
October 10, 2011, was finally at the
office
on Thursday afternoon, reeling in pains, crying, and refusing to
leave the office unless her account is published in the paper.
According to the woman, she went to the clinic to complain about some
pains she has been passing through for some time. She was asked by
the Doctors to go for a test. It was after undergoing the test that
she was diagnosed of fibroid tumor, upon which she was told that she
will undergo a surgical operation. Mrs. Favour pointed out that she
was asked to pay the sum of one hundred and twenty thousand (N120,
000.00) for the operation. She said that she did not have any money
at the time, which prompted her to sell her deep freezer, including
her other household items, with which she was able to deposit the sum
of forty thousand Naira, upon which the operation was carried out on
her. She lamented that after the operation, she was able to pay
additional sum of twenty thousand naira (20,000.00) to the clinic.
Since then, she has not been able to pay the rest of the money.

Mrs.
Favour Amufua said that she has no parents, husband or siblings to
assist her, other than her friends who have been sustaining her. She
stated that the operation has affected her negatively, as she is not
able to do anything since the operation was carried out, more so as
the stitches on her abdomen have not been removed, since she has not
been able to complete the payment. She therefore pleaded with kind
spirited individuals and organizations, including churches and non
governmental organizations, to come to her aid immediately, so that
she will not die from the operation, as she has been having sleepless
nights since the operation, and getting weaker by the day. As at the

  1. This site needs to be updated. I just read the story about Mrs. Favour Amufua dated October, 2011 and there is no follow up story on whether she received the help or not after seven good years.

The flyer of the year’s CASSON conference ought to be conspicuously displayed on our website each year. Thanks.
