A revered community leader and a successful business man Mr. Ndudi Don Agholor, has during the week called on the State Government to as a matter of urgency, convert the College of Education Agbor to a University of Education Agbor.
Mr. Agholor made the appeal during an interactive session with newsmen at his Shettima Dynasty Estate residence, behind the State School of Nursing Agbor, on Tuesday October 23, 2018.
While thanking God for the approval from the authorities of the University of Benin, to the College of Education Agbor, to run a Masters Degree Programme in Education, he said he was very happy with the findings of the accreditation team from the University of Benin, who after verifying the academic strength of the College of Education Agbor, was satisfied with their investigations, which according to him, showed that the College of Education was more than viable to run the Master degree Programme, one of the reasons being that they have a lot of Doctorate degree graduates as lecturers.
Mr. Agholor, who is a major facilitator to the achievement of the approval given to the College for the post graduate programme in education, also commended the efforts of Professor Mon Nwadiani an illustrious son of Ika Nation for his laudable feat. He appreciated his friends, Professor Faraday Orunwense, the Vice Chancellor of University of Benin and the school authorities for their approval; and also lauded the vision of Dr. J.O. Ukadike and his team, in moving the College of Education Agbor to a higher height.
Continuing, the Agbor-Nta born economist, Emphasized that if the College of Education Agbor, can run a Master Degree Programme in Education, then it will be of immense benefit to make the institution a University of Education; saying that “the state government should please compliment my efforts by up grading the institution to a University of Education, geared toward enhancing quality Education and sustainability.
Speaking further, Mr. Agholor advised the authorities of the College of Education Agbor, to take the Programme seriously and guide it jealously because it is not an all comer affairs urging them to face their studies and dig deeper in a manner that the parent institution will not regret their credence to the College. He also enjoyed the post graduate students of the Collage to be scholarly; by making sure they face their studies squarely and to always endeavour to be the best at the end of their programme.
