His Royal Highness, Dr. Julius
Chukwuyem Isitor, the Enogie of Ottah, Igbanke in Orhionmwhon Local Government
Area of Edo State and his entourage on Saturday 27th April, 2013 visited Ottah
community resident in Agbor.
The
meeting which was held in Ottah hall at Azehen by Imudia Street, Agbor,
witnessed a large turn out of Ottah indigenes resident in Agbor. The purpose of
the visit was to find ways to move Ottah community forward.
In
a welcome address presented by Mr. A.O Ojumah, on behalf of Ottah community in
Agbor, he thanked the Enogie and his entourage for the visit, adding that their
visit was not only a call for unity and felicity but a step in the right
direction for the good of Ottah people.
According
to him “with reference to our traditions and culture, we are like a bat. We do
not know where we belong or where to place our traditional or cultural
affinity. This has hindered us for over twenty or more years of our not
exercising any cultural or traditional activities, such as the New Yam
festival”.
He
also enumerated some of the problems confronting to be
the community in the area
infrastructural facilities and neglect by the present administration in
the state. He appreciated the efforts of the Enogie for his dynamism and efforts
to revamp the administration in Ottah, assuring him that they are solidly
behind him.
Responding,
the Enogie of Ottah, HRH, Dr. Julius Chukwuyem Isitor, thanked Ottah
indigence in Agbor for their help during
the burial of his late father and his subsequent installation.
The
monarch, enjoined his subjects to be law abiding citizens and shun evil
practices. He noted that in no distant time, Ottah community will have all the
required infrastructural facilities, adding that the federal government will soon
embark on building a hospital, roads, street lights and skill acquisition
centre’s in the community.
Climax
of the meeting was the presentation of gifts to His Royal Highness by his
subjects, as Mr. Innocent Chuks Ihiale on behalf of the group thanked all those
who despite their tight schedules came for the meeting. He prayed that God will
lead them safely back to their respective homes.
Dignitaries
on the entourage of the Enogie on the visit were Prince Gabriel Isitor, the
Onuobi of Ottah, Chief (Hon) Mike Edosa,
the Odonzi Ali of Ottah, Dec. J. I. Efagwu, Mr. David Edosa, Mr. M.
Arimokwu, among others.

MONARCH CHARGES SUBJECTS TO DEVELOP THEIR COMMUNITY
The Enogie of Ottah kingdom in
Igbanke, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, HRM, Dr. Julius
Chukwuyem Isitor have over the weekend during
a visit to Ottah indigenes resident in Agbor, charged his subjects
to develop their own community, noting
that most of Ottah indigenes are occupying various top positions in successful companies around
the country, but have refused to bring development to their own community.
The
Monarch admonished his subjects both at home and in diaspora to shun fear and
come back home to invest. He urged them to support his leadership, noting that
it is a new dawn for Ottah community.
According
to him “your place of birth is where your power lies, denying your place of
birth is a cause. “Parents, do not stop your children from visiting their home
town, rather encourage them to invest and develop their own community,” he
said.
In
another development, the monarch stated that in this year 2013, the festival of
Ottah people, that is ‘agbala’ will be observed, as he charged subjects to
always respect and support the traditions and culture of their people. He
encouraged Ottah indigenes at home and abroad to always identify with their
people and shun wickedness.
