f Assembly hopeful has refuted the claim.
Mr. Uweh made this clarification on Sunday, 14th
November, 2010, during an interview with newsmen at his residence in Boji-Boji,
Owa.
Mr. Uweh who said that his name was illegally
substituted by the PDP in 2007, disclosed that he is still under pressure on
whether to go on with the court case or not, judging from the amount of plea he
is receiving from various stakeholders that are sympathetic to Rt. Hon Obi
continuity in the House, most especially now that he is the Acting Governor of
Delta State.
“In view of the fact that Rt. Hon Prince Sam Obi is
now an Acting Governor, the first to attain the position in Ika land, I am
still under pressure to see if we can let go, for the interest of Ika nation,
for it will be wrong if we misuse the opportunity,” he stated.
Mr. Uweh further stated that “they are saying we
should settle, I will yield if I find any good reason with them, for now I have not been settled by anyone, and if I
have to settle, it is not going to be money because money will come and go but
good name will remain forever,”
In a related
development, Mr. Uweh said he will add his weight behind, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan
quest to win the re-run election
gubernatorial poll scheduled to hold a few weeks from now. According to
him, “as a loyal PDP member, I will
continue to support the ideology of the party. Uduaghan’s government was a careful and not extravagant one, so if given enough time to govern Delta
State, I think he will do well,” He added that the era of rigging and illegal thumb printing during elections
by the Nigerian political class which have been a great embarrassment to the
country democracy is over “because the INEC’s newly introduced electronic
device will disallow that.”
He however, enjoined the Nigerian electorates to
embrace the ideology of one man one vote, and choose credible candidates
without fear or favour for elective positions, just as he also called on
politicians, especially those aspiring for one position or the other in the
country not to make politics a do or die affair.
