Reacting to the recent publication in Ika Weekly Newspaper, page 8, volume 57 of Saturday, April 28-May5, 2018 with the caption:’Owa-Alizomor Community Protest: We Are Not in Support of Alfred Idehen”, the suspended youth leader in Ika North East Local Government Area, Comrade Alfred Idehen has informed the youths of Owa-Alizomor Community who published the article in Ika Weekly Newspaper that he is not from Owa-Alizomor, or known in the community, that he does not belong to Ward Six,that he has never come to assist them in doing any of the community works, he has never contributed to the growth and development of the community, neither has he visited the community to liaise or address them all through the period he spent as PDP youth leader in Ika North East before he was suspended by Chief Godwin Ogadi, to tell the whole world the community he hails from and the family he is born into.
Speaking further, Comrade Idehen called on all the youths whose statements were in the publication, tarnishing his image and reputation before the good people of Ika nation and beyond, to go through the same medium that they went to and tell the whole world where his parents hailed from, the political party he belongs to and where he contributes his quota politically and otherwise.
According to him, “My parents hailed from Ileme Quarters in Owa-Alizomor Community. I was born and brought up there, before moving with my parents to Boji Boji Urban where I am today. To me, if one does not reside in his village, it does not mean he or she is not a member of that community. I reside in Boji Boji Owa, work for Ward-Four and Ward Six which is my community, Owa-Alizomor. I don’t see any reason why those I call brothers and sisters will be protesting against me, just because I was suspended from holding a particular position. There is a saying in Ika dialect, that “Alionye-Wu ndu a” which means, “home is power and home is the best”. PDP is my party and I will never leave the party. I am very loyal to the Chairman of PDP in Ika North East, Chief Godwin Ogadi, despite my suspension. My family and I are solidly behind His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta State.
Above all, I am using this medium to thank my leaders, Hon. Raymond Mgbakor and Hon. Hillary Igbebulem, Principal Secretary to His Excellency for the contributions in Ika Land in particular and Delta State at large.
