The Chairman, Ika North East Local Government Area of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Sunny Onyejose, during the party local government congress held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the party Secretariat in Boji-Boji Owa, has been re-elected for the second term in office.
In a chat with newsmen, Mr. Onyejose expressed thanks to God Almighty for his re-election and the peaceful conduct of the election. His words, “My joy knows no bound. I was amazed over the massive turnout of party delegates who cued behind me. This shows the confidence that they want me and I am thankful to them all”.
He promised to carry every member of the party along immediately after his inauguration and to also call for an enlarge meeting of APC during which he will appeal to the aggrieved party members to come together to build a formidable structure of APC in Ika North East. While assuring the party faithful of equal right, Mr. Onyejose described APC as one family, saying that the party is fully prepared to take over Delta State from PDP come 2019 general elections.
The APC chairman called on all those who contested and failed during the election not to feel bad knowing fully well that they are still members of the party. He solicited for the continuous supports of the party faithful, promising not to fail them.
Mr. Onyejose used the opportunity to re-assured Deltans that APC will make a change come 2019, pointing out that the party will put in place all that is needed to develop the state to be a home to be proud of.
The vice-chairman, Dr. Friday Nwaiwu on his part expressed joy that the congress was held without crises, saying that all delegates present were also happy. He said that it was an open election and that all the delegates present will affirm that it was a free and fair election.
Other party faithful in their separate remarks congratulated Onyejose for emerging winner and pledged their continuous support.
