The secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria, A C N, Ika South chapter, Com Christopher Aghaolor Ukpere has carpeted Peoples Democratic Party, led government in Ika South for non-performance. Com Ukpere who spoke to newsmen during the week at Agbor said "the total lack of development and poverty ravaging the people of Ika South is as a result of the bad leadership of the PDP government in Ika South"
The A C N executive said since 1999, the PDP government in Ika South regrettably has no vision and mission as it has completely failed the people of the local government.
Com Ukpere noted that from May 1999 to December 2009, Ika South Local Government Council has received over eight billion naira (N8b) but nothing to show for it in the local government. He said with all the billions of naira that have been allocated to Ika South, its people are still wallowing as abject poverty.
The A C N Scribe however, called on the people of Ika South both at home and outside to support A C N in the oncoming local government election for it is the only party that has the capability of delivering dividends of democracy if voted for.
He maintained that as a focus, and proactive party, who believes in the rule of law, if voted for in the next local government election A C N will bring Ika South out of the hackles of poverty, underdevelopment and politics of god-fatherism
He used the opportunity to call on political parties who are not PDP to close ranks with A C N in order to flush out the bad leadership of PDP in Ika South and also move the local government forward.
