Health, it has always been
asserted, is wealth. For anybody enjoying good health, the individual should
see it as the greatest of all of God’s gifts, and should therefore spare a most
wonderful thought for the many persons who are experiencing one health failure
or the other.

When we wake up every
morning, while thanking God for our good health, we should not stop there, but
endeavour to reach out to those whose souls are crying for one assistance or
the other to enable them get out of their poor health situation.

It is on this note that we
bring to the notice of the public, the plight of little Victory Ndidi Omaka of
NO 14 Alisimie road, Idomodin, Igbanke, in Orhionmwon Local Government  Area of Edo State who is suffering from eye
cancer.

The little girl who was
brought to Ika Weekly office on Tuesday morning by her mother, Mrs. Patience
Omaka was writhing in pains occasioned by the huge lump on her left eye. Without
doubt, the 6-year old child must be going through a very excruciating pain.

Narrating to Ika Weekly the
harrowing experience the family has gone through, Mrs. Omaka, who disclosed
that her husband, Mr. Williams Omaka has completely exhausted his life’s
savings on seeking for solution, said they were at the University of Benin
Teaching Hospital UBTH for almost one year (since April 5th 2008) receiving
medical attention.

She said they were able to
meet with the financial requirement because the management of Edo Broadcasting
Service, (EBS) Benin-City was magnanimous enough to bring their plight to the
knowledge of members of the public, some of whom made financial contributions
which was used to offset the hospital bills.

Mrs. Omaka who wept profusely
all through the interview disclosed that they have now been referred to University College
Hospital, Ibadan and that about 1.5 million naira is
needed for the operation to remove the cancer.

The woman said that the
little girl is her only child and called on public spirited individuals,
organizations and governments to come to their aid to enable them proceed to Ibadan for the operation.

?We desperately need help,
which is about 1.5 million naira to have the operation carried out, for the
cancer to be removed from my daughter’s eye before it spreads. I am begging and
crying for help from kind spirited Nigerians, wherever they are, to help save
the life of my daughter. She is the only child I have. I don’t want anything to
happen to her. I am pleading to the Delta
State governor, Dr.
Emmanuel Uduaghan and his wife, Mrs. Roli Uduaghan to help me. I know that her
‘I care project’ is for people like us. I am also pleading with the Governor of
Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to extend his good heart to my daughter.
They should please help my daughter. I equally plead with Ministers of God and
churches to contribute to saving my daughter. Anybody that helps in saving the
life of my daughter will be richly rewarded by God. The girl is my only hope. I
have not been able to have other children. The little money we had has been
exhausted on medical bills? she lamented.

Mrs. Omaka also made a
passionate appeal to whoever that knows of any man of God who has solution
through prayer to help them. She equally called on Ika traditional rulers to
lend hands of financial support for the restoration of the health of her
daughter, whom she said is in KG 3.

Members of the public can
reach the Omaka family at their No 14 Alisimie road, Idomodin, Igbanke
residence in Orhionmwon L.G.A. of Edo
State or through her
