DRIVER NARROWLY ESCAPES DEATH ?ANOTHER MAN CRUSHED TO DEATH

South local  Government Area.

 

According
to an eyewitness account (name withheld), the truck conveying some cartons of
Maggi Cubes and Milo which was coming from the college function side of the
road, on getting close to Orogodo river, in a bid to avoid crashing into the
dredger that was parked at the left side of the road, crashed into another one
parked  at the right hand side.

 

The
eye witness further disclosed that due to the impact of the crash, the front of
the truck was damaged beyond repair which made people think that the driver
and  his conductor were dead but were
pleasantly surprised when the conductor came out unhurt but the driver was
seriously injured and unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital by
sympathizers where he regained consciousness the next morning and is currently
receiving medical treatment.

 

Sympathizers
appealed to the contractor handling the dredging of the river to remove the
tractor from the major road in order not to cause more accidents.

 

In
a related
development a man was crushed to death by a trailer on the 11th of
May 2009 at about 8.05am  along Benin
Asaba Express road.

 

According to an eye witness, the deceased was
crossing the expressway from Uromi Junction to the side leading to Agbor caltle
ranch but unfortunately, did not look carefully before crossing and was hit by
an on coming vehicle which lead to his instant death.

 

The eyewitness He further disclosed that as soon as
the accident occurred the driver of the trailer stopped in order to help the
victim but the victim was dead, with his body crushed beyond recognition. After
a few minutes a young man came to the scene of the accident, went to a near by
mini market and bought Ghana most go bag into which put the remains of the dead
man with tears.

Not quite long an ambulance came to the scene and
took the corpse away in the Gbana ? must- go bag.
