The Executive Chairmen of Ika North East and Ika South Local Government Councils, Hon. Festus Iwerebor and Hon. Hilary Ibude and their entire executives including their deputies and secretaries have unanimously endorsed the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, as the man to represent Delta North Senatorial District at the Senate come 2011.
Rising from a joint meeting, the two council executives resolved that it was in the best interest of the people of Delta North to give massive support to Dr. Okowa’s aspiration, as according to them "the SSG is the best person, eminently qualified, in all ramifications, to give the desired representation to Anioma people. We are very confident that if given the opportunity, he will perform creditably well, to the benefit of our people."
In separate remarks, Hon. Iwerebor and Hon. Ibude described Dr. Okowa as an exemplary leader, with the singular objective of uplifting the lives of the people. They pointed out that representing Delta North at the Senate by the SSG, will give the area the opportunity to attract federal presence.
In a related development, 31 councillors out of 37 in Ika Federal Constituency have added their weight to the senatorial ambition of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. In a release made available to Ika Weekly, the councilors said they were formally endorsing the SSG in his aspiration, having carefully analyzed his political career, which they noted has been used in not only promoting the well being of the people but in giving exemplary leadership, which they stressed the people of Ika nation and indeed Delta North were proud and all living witness.
