OROGODO BRIDGE SUBMERGED

AGBOR (Ika Weekly) – The once famous and notable Orogodo bridge in lka land is gradually but steadily submerging.

The Orogodo bridge which links the Boji-Boji metropolis with other parts of lka land is now a shadow and a ghost of its former self as it is almost impassable, especially now that the raining season is at its peak.

Commuters and pedestrians alike are having serious difficulty passing through the bridge because of the over-flowing of the river whenever it rains.

The portions on both sides of the bridge have been washed away by erosion, thereby creating depressions where water coming from blocked drainage system accumulates on the road.

Dangerous potholes and deep gullies now adorn the precinct of the river and bridge, causing immeasurable and incalculable damages to vehicles and motorcycles (popularly called okada).

We are therefore calling on government and other stakeholders to find a permanent solution to the problem. Our people have suffered enough.
