Wonders, they
say, shall never end as nine months pregnancy was said to have disappeared into
tin air. This was alleged to have happened to a 37 years mother of four, Mrs.
Mabel Idehen.
Speaking to Ika
Weekly, Mrs. Idehen said that she was confirmed pregnant at the general
hospital 5months ago by the doctors in the general hospital and since then, she
had been attending the anti-natal clinic. She said at a point, she went for a
scan to confirm the pregnancy and also the position of the baby. According to
her the nurses in the anti-natal unit said she was due for delivery on the 25th while the scan revealed that she would be due
on the 19th of October.
Narrating her
ordeal, she said she woke up on the 24th of October 2011 at midnight to answer the call
of nature, when she discovered that her pregnancy had disappeared. She then
called her daughter to inform her of the development, following which, they
started to pray until 4am. As there was no solution, she raised alarm which attracted the attention of her mother
who then joined in the prayers after which she called her husband Mr. Obo
Idehen. The man did not pick the calls so, the victim’s brother, Lagos by name,
went to her husband’s house to inform him of the incident and to urge him to
take her to the hospital for checkup. Her husband responded but some distance
away he pushed her down from his mother
bike and rode away.
At the time of
filing this report, the husband to the victim was still at large.
