No fewer than two
persons lost their lives in a fatal accident, involving an Audi 80 car and a
motorcycle, conveying three school children, along Oki/Agbor-Nta Road.
The accident
which occurred in the early hour of Thursday, 1st December 2011,
claimed the lives of little Blessing Nwaniju and the motor cyclist.
Speaking with Ika
Weekly, one of the victims who luckily escaped death but sustained
severe injuries, Master Bright Nwaniju said that the driver of the car skidded
off his lane and raced into them which led to the death of the okada man and
little Miss Blessing at the scene of the accident.
He attributed the
death of two of the victims on the spot to the hitting of their fore-heads on
the tarred road. Master Bright disclosed that the driver of Audi 80 car ran
away immediately he noticed that the
accident was ghastly, adding that passersby rescued him and his brother Master
Progress Nwaniju.
Ika Weekly
gathered that the driver of the ill-fated car has been arrested while Master
Bright and Progress Nwaniju are in pains receiving treatment at the Ewuru
Orthopaedic Hospital.
