Delta State Urban Water Board office in Agbor has now
come alive, as it now serves residents in the area including Agbor-Obi,
Alifekede, Emuhu, Ozanogogo, Abavo, and other neighboring communities.
It
is worth commending that since the present commissioner for Water Resources in
Delta State assumed office, the Urban Water Board that was dead for many years
has now regained its life. Some of the homes in Ika metropolis are now enjoying
constant water supply.
As
at the time Ika Weekly visited their zonal office in Agbor, located at
Professor Ebie Street by Lagos Asaba Road, their generating plants were on and
water was being pumped and served to residents. The management stated that the
major challenge they are facing is lack of power supply and the high cost of
diesel to power their generator. They also noted that most times, their water
pipes are destroyed by road contractors without these contractors making effort
to replace them.
They
enjoined residents of Ika land to be rest assured that Delta State Urban Water
Board is out to serve them, adding that residents should reconnect their water
line to the water board as they are very reliable now and ready to supply
portable water to residents. They also called on water tanker drivers to always
go to any water board office in Ika land for water supply.
