FALANA ASK POLICE HEAD QUARTERS TO TAKE OVER 11 YEARS OLD MURDER CASE

Eleven years after the murder of one of Mr.
Arthur Agbe, in Agbor, Delta State, a human right activist and lawyer, Mr. Femi
Falana has written to the Inspector General or Police (IGP), Suleiman Abba,
asking the police boss to take over the investigation of the gruesome murder.

Falana, in a letter dated September 26 and
addressed to the IGP, called on the force Headquarters to take over the
investigation of the murder case from the Delta State police command.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria alleged that the
Delta State Police Command, which was hitherto investigating the matter hence,
refused for complicity in the murder.

“It is on this premise that the force
Headquarters is being invited to take over the investigation of their matter,
so that individuals suspected to be involved in the murder to be prosecuted in
accordance with our law, “Falana said. The human rights lawyer had, in a
petition to the police boss earlier, alleged that the late Mr. Arthur Agbe was
murdered by hoodlums working for a popular politicians in Ika land.

He said the problem started when Agbe, along side
other artisans hired me, Mr. Ikpeaju to clear his parcel of land in Boji-Boji,
Owa, delta State were attacked by hoodlums.

According to Falana, “these artisan our client’s
son inclusive were attacked by these hoodlums. Unfortunately in the process. Our
client’s son gruesomely murdered.
